Expectations

Experts tell us that high expectations bring greatest success. In Room 14, students are expected to come to school ready to learn. They should have backpacks, supplies, and schoolwork with them. There is homework every day. Students should be reading 20-40 minutes every evening, studying spelling words for the week, and completing the day’s homework. Students will be working toward oral reading fluency goals of 120 or more words per minute and building skills in reading strategies. They will build math speed and accuracy in using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions. They will create descriptive writing projects and become more skilled in cursive handwriting. They will develop understanding and vocabulary in Social Studies and Science as well.
